Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

MCP Express is self-hosted software: you run it on your own infrastructure, and the data you process with it stays there. This Privacy Policy explains the limited personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data Controller

The data controller is:

Elephanti Soft UG (haftungsbeschränkt)
Heutingsheimer Str. 26 71634 Ludwigsburg Germany
Email: hello@mcp-express.com

2. What Data We Collect

a) Registration of a self-hosted instance

When the administrator of a self-hosted MCP Express instance registers, we collect one item of personal data: the administrator’s email address.

We do not collect anything else. In particular, we do not receive or have access to:

  • The data, tools, credentials or configuration of your instance
  • Your users’ data
  • Usage data or telemetry from your instance

b) Data collected when you visit this website

When you visit our website, certain technical data may be processed, such as your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of access. Analytics are only used if you consent through the cookie banner (see section 6).

We use the administrator’s email address only to:

  • Provide and manage your license. The license is issued against this email address, so we cannot provide it without it. Legal basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
  • Notify you of changes to this Privacy Policy. Legal basis: legal obligation to inform data subjects, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR.
  • Inform you about security vulnerabilities affecting the software, so that you can protect your instance. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security of our software and its users, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

We do not use the email address for marketing or newsletters, and we do not sell or share it for advertising purposes.

4. Sharing of Data

We do not sell your data. The email address may be processed on our behalf by service providers that we use to store license records and to send emails. These providers act only on our instructions and are bound by data processing agreements.

5. Data Storage and Retention

We keep the email address for as long as your license is active. After that, we delete it unless we are required by law to keep it, for example for tax or accounting records. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see section 8), but we will then be unable to maintain your license or send you security notices.

6. Use of Analytics on This Website

With your consent, we use analytics tools (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) on this website to understand how it is used and to improve it. These tools may collect data such as device type, browser version, pages visited and interaction patterns. You can accept or reject analytics in the cookie banner and change your choice at any time by clearing the site data in your browser. No analytics are loaded before you consent. This applies only to the website, not to your self-hosted instance.

7. International Data Transfers

In certain cases, personal data may be accessed or processed outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in Nepal. When this occurs, we take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data is handled in accordance with GDPR standards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (for example, website analytics)
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority

To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@mcp-express.com

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change this Privacy Policy, we will notify the administrator by email at the registered address and update the effective date above.
